5:30 p.m.A Napa couple suffered major injuries Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at the entrance to River Rock Casino in Geyserville.

David Creech, 76, and his wife, whose name was not immediately available, were in their Toyota Prius when it was broadsided about 3 p.m. by a Bobtail truck on Highway 128 at the entrance to the casino, stated CHP officer Barbara Upham.
The Creeches were airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where their condition was not immediately available, according to CHP.

CHP indicated Creech was driving  in a southerly direction at the casino exit when he failed to stop for a posted stop sign before initiating his left hand turn onto the highway. The Toyota sustained major damage to the driver’s side door when the truck struck it while reportedly traveling at about 45 mph, CHP stated.  Both vehicles came to rest blocking the westbound lane of the highway
The identity of the driver of the Bobtail truck was not made available by CHP.

CHP conducted one-way traffic control around the collision for approximately 90 minutes before opening the road at approximately 4:30 p.m.

" I hope the couple makes a full recovery.

Uhmm...I wonder if the damage would be less if they were driving a bigger car? "
