The Presidential snitch: What do you see out there?
Thursday, July 17, 2008

OK, so President Bush is due here Thursday late afternoon/early evening for a Republican fundraiser at a private Upvalley residence.

We know people are seeing things like helicopters flying low over the St. Helena area, and what looks like Secret Service folks scouting out the local terrain.
Time for you to be the online reporting staff ... Tell everyone what you are seeing out there as the Napa Valley prepares for a very brief (three hours, according to White House staff) non-public appearance among the grapes.

" A couple of years ago when Bush visited Angwin, helicopters were flying all over the place at least a day prior to his arrival. Secret service men were walking the back roads. No such thing happening now. My deductive reasoning tells me that Angwin is NOT on the itinerary. "

" A "private residence" will host the visit with 112 guests? That ought to narrow things down a bit...... "

" I heard rumor it might be at Hall Winery or at Craig & katherine Hall's residence. I heard it through the grape vine. They might not come through Jamison Canyon due to high traffic and congestion and might take the wooden valley road option and down the hill. They were up that way last visit. I did see a blackhawk helicopter flying in that area two evenings ago very low?He might also just fly over in Marine1 and the CHP and Secrit Service cars will be used as a decoy. They will make a last minute decision I'm sure. "

" I would be looking over towards the hills around Atlas Peak. The Halls are big money people from Texas and do own a home big enough for a huge event. They own hundreds of acres in Napa and their own winery in Napa. "

" The Halls will never host a republican anything, are you kidding?
The fundraiser they supported was last Saturday. Check out DCCC and Twin Sisters!
Your grapevine is harvested. "

" Air Force One flew over my house after the New Year's Floods. Very cool...too bad I'm not in Napa right now to hear all the helicopters. - LOVE IT!

We should all be appreciative that OUR President is out here regardless of what you think of him. Some people are just rude AND unpatriotic. "

" Sattui's Castello di Amoroso hosts a classical concert and boasts a medievel torture chamber -- which I'm sure is a big draw for W, but my money is still on Frank Family via Silverado Trail because of the new landscaping.

Personally, I think the truer patriot puts their Constitution above their president. "

" I got the Sheriff's message about the delays on the trail, and all I can say is darn, I have to be commuting to class right then. Hate the helicopters, so loud they made the whole house shake, we must be expecting Al Qaeda or something, there were a lot of them yesterday. I am sure Bush will NOT be travelling by road. Of course he will go via helicopter. The venue? Dunno. Don't care either. "

I am in the valley just south of Yountville. "

" I heard he'd be at the castle in St. Helena tomorrow. He's flying in and flying out via chopper. It should be quite and exciting aerial display in the early evening. I appreciate the fact that he's decided not to clog the few arteries in and out of Napa Valley. It's very considerate.

Welcome Mr. President!! "

" It is a privelage to have the President of the United States in our county. My children are all excited about it. It is history for them that they will take into their future lives and stories they will share.

And we KNOW where the President will be. I just got a call from my husband who was with the electrician who checked out all the electrical etc,.... for safety reasons obviously. It's really fun for our kids to know stuff like this :) "

" Just drove upvalley from Napa. A lot of law enforcement vehicles out on HWY 29. Past Zinfandel Ln. in S.H. traffic is slow. A gas station has both driveways blocked by CHP cruisers. Sutter Home winery seems to be closed down... More CHP cruisers infront of Martini and Sutter Home winery facilities. In front of the Ford dealer in S.H. I saw I'd say about 10 squad cars from S.H.P.D., CALISTOGA P.D. AND CHP Departments, parked at the Sutter Home entrance gate. A lot of security out there. "

If it wasn't for the so called hippies fighting for the "cause" during the Vietnam era we'd have lost many more of our loved ones. And you call yourself an American ?Don't get me started ! "
