Brief fire in Berryessa

6:45 p.m.Napa County firefighters were battling a wildland fire near Berryessa Estates on Tuesday afternoon.

As of 5:30 p.m., the fire had charred four acres, according to Calfire, but by 6:40 p.m. fire crews had knocked down the fire and were doing mop-up operations.
The blaze, which was in the 2400 block of Stagecoach Canyon Road, about 12 miles from Pope Valley, broke out around 3:15 p.m.

Calfire said it was not aware of any structures being destroyed or damaged. No one was ordered to evacuate.
In addition to the firefighters and ground equipment, one air attack, four air tankers and two helicopters were dispatched to the fire.

" Thanks to the fire fighters and especially those air tanker and helicopter pilots.Without the fast response of the CDF airwing,these small fires around the lake area could be disaterous.I can't beleive how fast hey get on scene.The firefighters to be commended too.I do know how hot and hard your job is.I think you guys are in for a long hard summer.We'll keep our fingers crossed that there are no major fires in Napa County this year.Thanks to all our fire fighters.Great Job !!!!!!
