4:30 p.m.Napa will close Westwood Hills and Alston parks Wednesday because of a “red flag” fire warning issued by the National Weather Service.

Both parks will close at 8 a.m. for a minimum of 24 hours, said Fire Battalion Chief Mike Randolph.
Critical fire conditions are expected, with day temperatures over 100 degrees, low humidity and winds from the north ranging from 5 to 15 mph with gusts to 20 mph, he said.

There will be an “explosive fire potential” Wednesday, Randolph said in a press release.

" It's about time the people running Napa started blaming those 4-legged fire starters instead of looking for arsonists and cigarette tossers! "
