Secondly Obama does not have a record of bi-partisanship. His has 2 bills co-authored with a republican;
The Lugar-Obama bill did pass and was to enhance efforts to destroy weapons stockpiles.
The Coburn-Obama bill was to set up a database tracking federal funds to contractors.
Honestly in both those cases it was more of the Republicans working the bi-partisan angle than Obama.
The congressional record is very clear, Obama is left of Sen Kennedy and right of Satan. ;)
But hey, thats just my $.02 "

I'll be tempted to vote for McCain if he chooses Clinton (she dissed him one too many times). However, there is a wisdom to keeping her close (keep your friends close and your enemies closer). She'd have little incentive to sabotage his presidency if she was on the ticket. "

The first post states that Obama has a record of bipartisanship, which some of us take exception with, and the lost posts are necessary to challenge the claim in the first post. Maybe the deleted posts should have tied their responses to using a specific potential candidate name as an example, but the point remains that Obama's bipartisanship and liberal voting record may or may not need compensating for on the ticket, which seems to me to be quite on topic. "

Oh look...we're being censored again. But only on the Obama VP forum...if you go over to the McCain VP forum, there are suggestions for "Jesus" as his VP candidate. Why wasn't that removed? How is that constructive?
Smells of liberal BIAS.
The ideal solution is to restore the original posts, please, and let people's opinion, even if sarcastic, be heard. Intellectual debate AND emotional outburst are both valid measures of how people are approaching this topic. "
Dan Ross wrote on Jun 24, 2008 10:41 AM:
Thanks for the comment but no, posts completely unrelated to the topic of the Democratic VP choice were deleted because this forum is about the VP choice.
Some deleted posts were about Republican options, some were completely off-topic, none should have initally been approved, all were deleted. "

So someone mentioned Jesus for mccain, yet we have suggestions such as Rev. Wright, Ahmadinejad, Hugo Chavez, and dumpster muffin for Obama. Yea liberal bias indeed. Four absurd comments (although dumpster muffin is admittedly hilarious) towards the democrats and one towards republicans. hmmmm
I would like Obama to choose someone who will not only be a capable vice-president but will also help him carry a swing state (traditional or not) "
common sense wrote on Jun 24, 2008 6:09 PM:
Either ban sarcastic suggestions for both or allow them...but to permit it for one side and not the other is a clear case of bias. "
Hear Ye wrote on Jun 24, 2008 9:53 PM:
You're absolutely right. That's why the suggestions that I pointed out are still there and have not been deleted. Scroll down and you will see your earlier picks for Obamas vice president. "

What about Claire McCaskill? She seems to be pretty well grounded. Could probably give Obama some tips on common sense. "

The election has gone to whoever carried Ohio for at least the last thousand years, and it's always down to the wire on which way Ohio swings (or, as in 2004, down to who's counting the votes.) Putting Strickland on the ticket could be all the nudge that Ohio needs to bring its electoral votes Obama's way. "
