Remember the good old days of $3 a gallon gasoline?

Nope, neither do we, so we are asking your help here.
Let everyone know where your best bets are for finding good prices on filling your gas tank, whether you are commuting from Solano County to Napa or just going from Bel Aire Plaze to Imola and Soscol.

" Unfortunately Napa does not have a costco, which is a nickel cheaper than Arco. However, if you use your ATM card Arco charges an additional 45 cents. Any way you look at it, it's a scam and the oil companies are making billions. "

" Yesterday I used that "no name" (sorry, I can't remember what's its name) on Jefferson and Pueblo. It was $4.17 for regular.
And I saw at $4.17 as well at the USA on Imola and 29.
The Chevron on First towards Browns Valley had it at $4.19
I haven't seen it any cheaper.
It's sad we seem to be "comfortable" now paying on the low $4's per gallon?
Yikes! "

" how many gas ststions are owned by the same person, we seem to never have gas wars any more, how do you find out. "

" We go to Arco next to Butter Cream. Best price!! "

" Arco next to Buttercream bakery is the cheapest but good luck getting in and out of that place. It's a cluster everytime I go by there. I'd rather pay a few cents more per gallon at USA on Jefferson and Pueblo to get in and get out than go to that place. "

" I get a better net price by using a credit card that gives a 3% rebate on gas purchases. That works out to over 12 cents a gallon! So, when buying gas at USA for $4.17, my net price is $4.05, well below Arco's cash price. "

" Why is it, when oil prices goes up a few bucks per barrel, the gas prices goes up immediately after it's announced on the radio. However, when the barrel of oil goes down a few bucks (rarely), I don't see anyone at the gas station lowering the prices. I think I got into the wrong line of work... I should have been an oil exec. " If I didn't have to commute 26 miles each way to work, I would buy a bike and park my car. "

anewcommenter wrote on Jun 6, 2008 11:16 AM:

" There are no good gas prices anywhere. Wish it were possible for all of us to do as mominnapa said and just park our cars and bike to work. I would do this also if I worked locally. Its the only way the prices will ever go down again. We are paying more than twice as much as we were just one year ago. Somethings got to be done! "

" I'm glad I only live 1/2 a mile from my job and my gym. Napa's only about 4 miles from Imola to Salvador and pretty flat from what I can tell. Perfect for biking it when you really don't "need" to drive. 20 minute bike ride tops. "

" Might be interesting to watch the special on CNBC tonight: "America's Oil Crisis".

By the way, in Kentucky gas is still under $4.00. Yeeeha! "

" If any of you watch FOX News you may be aware of this...some time back O'Reilly suggested that we all refrain from purchasing gas on Mondays ... unless absolutely neccessary... although it is not going to change the price we are currently paying...it may give the gas companies a feel for what it would be like to have drastically reduced sales for a day...
Have not heard whether it has caught on or not...
Personnally I don't think it is going to make a difference to the companies ...because they really don't care...but I am going to try and do it just for the "excercise" "

" No "Amazed." I like to run as a warm up or ride my bike before I get my pump on and get ripped and shredded. The wind in my face and the flow of blood through my legs feels like, well, Arnold Schwarzenegger summed it up perfectly in Pumping Iron. "
