Napa High School has a standard of excellence both academically and athletically.

Ben Ballantine threw a two-hit shutout Thursday night to lead Napa past the Petaluma Leg Horns 10-0 in Junior American Legion 17-and-under baseball action at Pelaluma High School.

Winning pitcher Jessica Perez and Megan Morton each went 2-for-4, with Morton driving in a run for Fazerrati’s in Friday's Senior Division game at Kiwanis Park. For Bicycle Works, Trisha Towne had a double as she and Luie Knudson each went 2-for-4.

Kayla Loveland was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and Sarah Wilson went 1-for-3 with a triple and RBI in Friday's Major Division game at Kiwanis Park. For Kiwanis, Mackenzie Miller was 3-for-3 and Michelle Timmons 1-for-2 with a double.

Amber Daly struck out nine in picking up the win, helping her cause with a 2-for-4 night at the plate in Thursday's early Senior Division game at Kiwanis Park. Whitney Pridmore was 2-for-3 with an RBI. For Bicycle Works, Luie Knudson was 2-for-3 with a double.

Megan Brown went 2-for-3 with a double to pace Branagan in Thursday's later Senior Division game at Kiwanis Park. For Conwell, Kayla Hudler was 2-for-3.
