The 2007-08 high school interscholastic sports season came to an end with the conclusion of a busy spring season for local schools last month.
Baseball, softball, golf. tennis, swimming, track and field, badminton and soccer all wrapped up in May, signaling an end to a busy prep sports season in the Napa Valley.
With the school year drawing to a close locally, the sixth annual Big Game mini-golf match, featuring players and caddies from Napa and Vintage’s leadership groups, was played Monday afternoon on the South Course at Scandia Family Fun Center in Fairfield.
Vintage, the defending champion which came into the match leading the all-time series, 3-2, won yesterday’s intra-city rivalry match, 7-2-1.
There were 18-hole matches for each of the players. Ten matches were played.
There was a three-way tie for the lowest score, with three players turning in scores of 5-under-par 45. Each of those three players had three holes-in-one.
“We came out and did what we had to do,” said Jenn Mehrens, the Vintage captain and ASB Director of Student Activities.
Ben & Jerry’s in the Napa Town Center is the event sponsor, providing trophies and ice cream cake.
