I’ve been from Burney to Balboa Island and from the Anza-Borrego Desert to Zuma Beach, so I thought I’d seen a lot of the Golden State.

Each election, Californians see snapshots of what makes our democracy tick. Candidates. Initiative measures. Campaign commercials. Voter registration drives. Ballots and the machines that count them.

I am concerned that the issues that affect the future of our county are clouded by the subjective consideration of candidates, rather than an objective view of who is really the best person for the responsibility.

We Napans are lucky to enjoy the beauty of our agricultural valley, and we want to protect our hard-won amenities from rampant development.
