I’ve been from Burney to Balboa Island and from the Anza-Borrego Desert to Zuma Beach, so I thought I’d seen a lot of the Golden State.

I recently completed serving on the steering committee working on rewriting the Napa County General Plan. This process took well over two years.

It seems that, after 30 years, the voter ballot proposition process in California is in dire need of overhaul. 

The credibility of Measure N supporters would be helped immensely if they got their numbers straight. For example, the record of walkable, transit-oriented projects similar to Napa Pipe shows that there would be about 1.5-2.0 people per unit, or ultimately 5,000-7,000 residents plus 3,000-3,500 vehicles, not the 10,000 people and 6,500 cars credulously guessed by opponents.
