Two men were taken into custody on drug charges when Napa police contacted them Wednesday afternoon at the corner of Fourth and Franklin streets.

Leslie Laree Woodworth is on probation, subject to search without a warrant.
Woodworth and Gregg Steven Harris were both searched.

Officers found Woodworth to be in possession of seven baggies of suspected methamphetamine and cash, police said. Harris had one baggie of suspected meth, police said.
Woodworth, 23, and Harris, 31, both of Napa were arrested on suspicion of possession of meth.

Harris was also booked for violation of parole and Woodworth for violation of probation.

" Please remind me how does the "Three strikes you're out" work?
It is obvious that the same criminals get arrested and let out way too many times. It just adds up to police workforce being wasted on paperwork and the "bad guys" just go back on the street, laugh at the PD and the rest of us pay for their acts ($literally$).
What is the matter with the Prosecutors and Judges?
Oh I know, they are all for "giving second (and third, and fourth, and...) chances". Plain RIDICULOUS! "

" Strikable offenses are usually violent crimes not simple possesion etc. though the previous felonies will enhance the sentence if it is found that they are similar types of crimes and the previous felonies will require that the individual serve a higher percentage of the time he is sentenced to ( 85% instead of 50%) before being considered for parole. Oh and then the governer will let him out early cause the prisons are overcrowded and he is a non violent offender. cant forget that "

" Thanks napadad.
Consuming and possesing more than just "personal consumption amount of drugs -obviously for sale" looks VIOLENT enough. Don't these meth users go eventually ballistic to the point they end up killing someone either by DUI or just "went off" ?
I understand our prisons are crowded, and some people even suggest to "de-criminalize" drug use...
I don't know but it sure seems messed up.

" the problem is with the parole system. once you are let out on parole you are forced to go back to the same place you committed your crime in. eventually these parollee's start seeing the same old people they were hanging out with when they got busted and they start doing the same old things that got them busted. its a vicious cycle that due to the parole system they cant escape.
