Register Web site named best in U.S.

The Napa Valley Register’s Web site, napavalleyregister.com, this week was named the best local news Web site for a paper its size by the Suburban Newspapers of America.

Robert Mondavi, 1913-2008

Robert Mondavi, widely credited with being the driving force behind establishing the Napa Valley as one of the world's premier wine regions, died Friday morning at his home in Yountville at the age of 94.
