3:30 p.m.The attempted murder trial of Willis Creech began today with tearful testimony from his estranged wife, Reanna Creech, describing the pandemonium inside her father’s house eight months ago as Willis Creech allegedly emptied four shotgun rounds into the residence on Dry Creek Road.

Reanna Creech said she heard a loud thud around noon on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, then saw Creech outside the window holding a shotgun.
“Get the kids, he’s here!” she said she remembers screaming. “Run, duck!”

Reanna Creech described the family and a construction worker barricading themselves inside a bathroom to avoid being hit by shotgun fire.
Public defender Kris Keeley asked Reanna questions about discrepancies in her statements to the court and a Modesto police detective, where she lived with Creech.

Reanna Creech said she and Willis Creech had a tumultuous relationship. The night Reanna Creech left Willis Creech he is alleged to have followed her to her father’s house and fired his shotgun at the building.
Willis Creech is facing three counts of attempted murder and a list of other charges, including two counts of child endangerment.
