Campaign season is in full swing.

Underlying all the debate over land use in Napa County (Measure J, Measure N, Napa Pipe, Angwin Bubble, Ghisletta annexation, etc.) is the mindset that the state of California is holding a gun to our collective heads and ordering communities to create more and more housing.

Jamieson Canyon Road, otherwise known as the weekday afternoon parking lot between Napa and Solano counties, is in the midst of a change that is bound to create even more havoc.

It’s too big. It needs more study. It may not do enough to ease Napa County’s affordable housing crunch.
