Candidate Forum tonight in Napa

11:30 a.m.Friends of the Napa River, Get a Grip on Growth, and the Napa County Sierra Club are the 2008 Candidate Environmental Forum tonight in Napa for District 2 and District 5 county supervisor candidates.
The 6:30 p.m. forum is at the Center for Spiritual Living, 1227 Coombs St. in Napa.
Candidates were asked to give forum moderators written answers to two questions.
Question one is their stance on Retaining a 1% residential growth rate in the county; Measure N; The extension of Measure J and state Propositions 98 and 99.
Question two is how real is the threat of global warming, to what extent should Napa expend funds or enact regulations to lessen our contribution to the problem, and should we take into account the risk of a rising sea level in planning and permitting?
Questions to be asked during the forum include ones on the county General plan and the urban bubbles issue in Angwin; The Napa Piep and Angwin eco-village proposals; groundwater use; health of the Napa River and illegal water diversions;
District 2 incumbent Mark Luce faces challengers Mike Rodrigues and Harry Martin.
District 5 candidates include Keith Caldwell, Cindy Coffey, Rich Jager; and Gary Simpson
