Napa High student named Junior Miss

Elycia Scriven, 17 of Napa High School, became Napa Valley’s 2009 Junior Miss on Saturday night.

Scriven took first place in a competition among 13 local students at the Lincoln Theatre in Yountville.
She earned a medallion and a $3,500 scholarship. Other participants receive scholarships of $500 to $1,500.

The other competitors in the Junior Miss competition included.
Monica Baird, 16, Napa High; Grecia Barboza, 15, Napa High; Alana Cox, 16, Napa High; Gabriella Forster, 16, Vintage High; Carlie Long, 16, Napa High; Julie McNamara, 17, Vintage High; Alice Meltzer, 16, Napa High; Natalia Nicholas, 16, Vintage High; Katie Ott, 16, Napa High; Gianna Peralta, 16, New Tech High; Brianna Stade, 17, Napa High; Caitlin Underhill, 16, Napa High.

Last year's Napa Valley Junior Miss was Jennifer Mehrens, a senior at Vintage High School.
