Napa man sentenced for stealing from theater

A Napa man who managed a Marin County movie theater has been sentenced to three years in prison for stealing money from the business.

Christopher O'Kelley, 36, was charged with embezzlement from Century Theatres in San Rafael from late 2002 through early 2005 totaling about $116,000 that was supposed to be given to management trainees for their expenses.

" All this guy was thinking about was himself, he did not care for his employees. Movie prices are already high as it is and now with O'Kelly stealing money from Century Theaters the customers are probably looking at paying even more money to off set the money that was stolen from the company. I hope O'kelly does his time and learns never to do this again.

" However unfortunate the circumstances were for Mr. O'kelley to resort to stealing, I find it more unfortunate that we as tax payers will have to pay for his living expenses for the 3 years he spends in prison. Its an awful feeling of betrayal, violation, ignorance and resentment, when someone you have employed in your business steals from it as well. "
