40 years
I was 4 years old when the Napa County Agricultural Preserve was passed, and did not become conscious of it until moving to Napa in 2003, when the preserve had been in place for 35 years.
Caldwell is the choice for District 5 supervisor
I am voting for Keith Caldwell because I believe he is the best choice for Napa County supervisor to represent all of District Five and all of Napa County. He is the only candidate that has lived in both the Napa and American Canyon parts of the district and knows well the issues in both communities. He does his homework. He faithfully attends supervisor, Local Agency Formation Commission and Napa County Transportation and Planning Agency meetings (and more) and is well-versed on the issues brought forth in these venues. Keith understands the importance of agriculture and open space in Napa County and has pledged to protect both. He considers agriculture the economic engine of the county.

For decades Get a Grip on Growth has represented the voice of the community promoting slow, smart and sustainable growth and preventing sprawl in Napa County. Consistent with our goals, GGG has endorsed Measure N, the Responsible Growth Initiative.
An open letter to Mike Thompson
Mike,
State could have been a contender
Tuesday’s Pennsylvania presidential primary comes as an ironic reminder for Californians of yet another missed opportunity: In chasing what they thought would be political clout worthy of the nation’s most populous state, our leaders set a February primary date that marched us still deeper into irrelevance.

An equitable plan for the MST
Dear editor, Napa County has been aware of a shortage of water in the Milliken-Sarco-Tulocay area for more than 50 years and yet continued to approve additional expansion of buildings, vineyards and wineries without any guarantee that water would be available for either the current long-time residents or new land-uses.
A Super type of Delegate
Be proud Napa: one of your own is going to Denver as one of California’s 241 delegates to the Democratic National Convention this summer.
Obama: Clinging to the Truth
The amount of blogging, punditing and spinning going on over Obama‚s recent "gaffe" concerning people in some small Midwest towns has been simply staggering. It's an even bigger story than Jeremiah Wright, although there is a creeping note of tiredness of all the Obama bashing starting to appear.
Should California restart the death penalty?
The Supreme Court ruled this week that Kentucky's use of lethal injection lethal injection -- similar to what is used in California and other states for execution of death row inmates -- does not violate the constitution.
