Take responsibility for your pets

It must be that time of year again. There is the decade-old influx of newly weaned kittens magically appearing at Lake Berryessa. I find it difficult to believe these animals are delivered from Heaven as prophets or the second coming of the Messiah.

Another disappointing Olympic moment

Time and again I watch as yet more Olympic moments turn into political theater for one group or another.

Volume rising in the east

Not since North Korea conducted a nuclear test in October 2006 has the decibel level on the Korean Peninsula been so high.

37 minutes to help fill a need

Dear editor, As a Napa native I am always so amazed and exhilarated when our community comes together to solve a problem or fill a need.

Zarate's green thumb

Dear editor, The Alta Heights Elementary School staff, students, parents and school community would like to thank Gabriel Zarate for installing a beautiful garden area, located next to our wonderful multi-use provided by our taxpayers, Don Evans and Napa Valley Unified School District.

Painting a bright future

Dear editor, Canyon Oaks Elementary School will be having its Third Annual Save the Arts Festival on May 17.

A Super type of Delegate

Be proud Napa: one of your own is going to Denver as one of California’s 241 delegates to the Democratic National Convention this summer.

AGW rant

What is being done in the name of Anthropogenic (human-caused) Global Warming right now is a tragedy. People have gone insane with this. Why in the world do we think that raising gasoline prices to $5 a gallon is a good idea? People are going to starve, in fact they are starving already and AGW hysteria is a major culprit.
