Summer's coming: Napa Valley Opera House announces new lineup

Napa Valley Opera House artistic director Evy Warshawski has announced a summer lineup that “will make you sing, dance, think and tickle your fancy.”

Last Friday evening as “Damn Yankees” opened at Justin-Siena’s playhouse, the North gym was turned into a stage, which was turned into old Griffith Stadium in Washington, D.C., circa early l960s, and more than 40 young actors gave forth with an astounding evening of pure theater.

Items wanted for Downtown Association crafts fair promotions

The Napa Downtown Association, on the hunt for a new look for the 2008  Napa Wine & Crafts fair, is calling for submissions for original artwork to be featured on the marketing materials for the event. The deadline to submit art is June 20. The artist whose work is chosen will receive $500 as well as recognition on posters. Mondavi art exhibit features those with UCDavis ties

The Robert Mondavi Winery is hosting an exhibition of prints by some of this century’s most acclaimed artists, all of whom have a tie to the art department at UC Davis. The prints, from the vast collection of Oregon art patron and philanthropist Jordan D. Schnitzer, include works by Wayne Thiebaud, Roy De Forest, John Buck and Bruce Nauman.

St. Helena Chamber Singers performances this weekend

The St. Helena Chamber Singers honor American composers at performances Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m. at the St. Helena Catholic Church, 1340 Tainter St., at the corner of Oak Avenue.
