Step by step

Sneak onto the old Riverside Auto property on First Street and peek over the railing on the side of the building, looking down on the mouth of Napa Creek and out onto the river.

I've had enough brainwashing by elites

It is amazing to see so much ignorance among so many intelligent people. The Register opinion page for April 5 posted an L.A. Times editorial supporting another $50-billion foreign aid bill fighting disease and poverty.

5 years into a journey in Iraq

As we mark the fifth anniversary of the fall of Saddam Hussein’s regime, it is important to reflect on the journey we have embarked upon.

Yes on 98, no on 99

Two state initiatives, propositions 98 and 99, will be on the June ballot. Proposition 98 is very important for property owner rights and Proposition 99 is very deceitful.

Local talent fills the stage

What a great weekend of local talent in the Napa Valley! The Napa Valley College production of “La Cage Aux Folles” was stellar. Many of your friends, neighbors and colleagues are in the cast and having a great time.  Jennifer King, Eve-Anne Wilkes, Pamela Rogers and Richard Riccardi have done wonders, and Jan Molen’s costumes are outstanding as is the lighting and staging.

The wrong project for Coombsville

I would like to ask Mr. Roelle (”In favor of Fairview Heights,” April 5) who owns a home on Tamarisk Drive, how he gets in and out of his neighborhood. Do you cut through my street to get home, when you travel up and down Coombsville, are you the only one who doesn’t mind sitting in a traffic jam?

The aptly named 'American Canyon'

In honor of American Canyon having just been named by CNN/Money.com as number 11 on its list of “100 Best Places to Live and Launch a Business,' this week seemed like a good time to engage in a combination of shameless civic pride, gratitude, and reflection on the future.

AGW rant

What is being done in the name of Anthropogenic (human-caused) Global Warming right now is a tragedy. People have gone insane with this. Why in the world do we think that raising gasoline prices to $5 a gallon is a good idea? People are going to starve, in fact they are starving already and AGW hysteria is a major culprit.
