Climate Debate Daily
We believe humans should moderate their consumption regardless of global warming. We are in favor of positive changes to lead a more sustainable lifestyle. A friend of ours uses the following analogy. If you sit in a running car in a closed garage, the c02 can kill you. This is a proven scientific fact and no one in their right mind would debate it. So, what do we think happens when our collective exhaust remains trapped below the earth's atmosphere, in the air we breathe, in the lakes we fish? The debate isn't about whether were in a period of warming or cooling; it isn't whether we are responsible for do something or not; it is how much we have to do and how long we have to do it? Anyone who feels humans are not responsible for harming the planet should consider taking a puff from a tailpipe. Please do not actually attempt to do this. "

Now, does this mean we are free to waste resources and pollute our environment? Absolutely not! We all need clean air and water, and it is imperative that we are good stewards of those resources. We should absolutely recycle everything we possibly can. Developing renewable energy sources is important, not because fossil fuels contribute to global warming (breathing does too), but because those resources are limited. And quite frankly, if I can live a comfortable life, enjoying the technological benefits of our modern world (without paying PG&E for the privilege) so much the better.
