An American Canyon resident was arrested early Sunday evening at his Plazo Way home after his female companion said he pushed her, “causing her to strike her head on a cabinet door, rendering her unconscious,” American Canyon Police Sgt. Craig Nickles said.
Police name hit-and-run victims
A Napa teen remains at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital after sustaining major head injuries resulting from a hit-and-run accident on Jefferson Street shortly before 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Jose Carlos Ortiz, 17, was struck by a pickup truck while riding his bicycle across a crosswalk, Napa Police Cmdr. Andy Lewis said. The condition of Ortiz remained “critical,” on Monday morning, according to Katy Hillenmeyer, a hospital spokeswoman.
Hundreds lose power in northwest Napa
Approximately 212 customers lost power when a tree hit a powerline at the 4400 block of Redwood Road late Monday afternoon. The 4:33 p.m. outage affected residents along Redwood Road from Browns Valley Road, including Mt. Veeder Road and the surrounding area, according to Jana Morris, a PG&E spokeswoman. An estimate of when power would be restored was not available at press time.
