Dear editor, The staff, board of directors and clients of Legal Aid of Napa Valley extend their utmost gratitude to the Napa Valley Vintners for awarding two very generous grants to Legal Aid from the proceeds of the 2007 Auction Napa Valley. Because of the Vintners' generosity, Legal Aid will be able to continue and expand its mission to provide free legal assistance to seniors, immigrants and low-income residents of Napa County.

Dear editor, You are receiving quite a few letters commenting on the quality of life of egg-producing chickens. What they all seem to lack is any knowledge about what makes a chicken content or unhappy.

Dear editor, Larry Holbrook is quite possibly the most talented teacher this side of the Mason-Dixon Line. He is the metal and auto shop teacher at Vintage High, but to most of his students, he is so much more.
