Napa Sheriff’s Activities League wrestlers place in meet

The Napa Sheriff’s Activities League wrestling program took part in a scrimmage Feb. 20 at Springstowne Middle School in Vallejo. Napa competed against the Vallejo Wrestling Club, Bancroft Wrestling Club, and Springstowne Middle School. Participating for Napa:
• Hagen Bresee, 11 years old, sixth grade, 1-1 in the 115-pound bracket.
• Trenton Bresee, 10, fifth grade, 0-2 in the 88-pound bracket.
• Stephen Denna, 14, eighth grade, 2-0 in the 106-pound bracket with pins in 2:36 and :33, respectively.
• Maggie Douma, 11, sixth grade, 2-0 in the girls 88-pound bracket with a pin in :43.
• Alyvia Fiske, 8, third grade, 1-1 in the girls 81-pound bracket.
• James Kenny, 10, fourth grade, 2-1 in the 86-pound bracket with a pin in 1:21.
• Jessica Lucero, 9, fourth grade, 1-1 in the girls 59-pound bracket.
• Jon Van Lucero, 11, seventh grade, 2-0 in the 63-pound bracket with an overtime win.
• Adam Muth, 10, fifth grade, 1-0 in the 62-pound bracket with a pin in :39.
• Jeff Muth, 13, eighth grade, 1-0 in the 133-pound bracket with a pin in :15.
• Patrick Ramirez, 8, third grade, 2-0 in the 63-pound bracket with a pin in 2:26.
• Stephen Ramirez, 5, kindergarten, 1-1 in the 47-pound bracket.
• Alec Richmond, 9, fourth grade, 1-1 in the 81-pound bracket.
• Anthony Schweitz, 13, seventh grade, 2-0 in the 123-pound bracket with pins in 1:25 and 1:46, respectively.
• Justin Thayer, 13, eighth grade, 1-1 in the 85-pound bracket with a pin in 1:56.
• Caleb Tremblay, 11, sixth grade, 2-0 in the 93-pound bracket with pins in 3:24 and 2:41, respectively.
The Sheriff’s Activities League wrestling program’s regular folkstyle season is closing with the U.S. Girls Wrestling Association NorCal Championships in Vallejo on March 2, the NorCal Tournament of Champions in Loomis on March 8, the Junior High State Championships in Fresno on March 15 and 16, and the Girls Middle School State Championships in Vallejo on April 12.
The SAL wrestling club is coached by Lt. Jean Donaldson, Lt. Tom Commander, Deputy Jesse Ward, Deputy Dan Fiske, St. Helena Police Dept. Officer Justin Tharp, and Stephen Denna.
