Mans stabs self near downtown Napa

2:30 p.m.A man in his 20s found with a single stab wound to his abdomen near downtown Napa this morning appears to have stabbed himself, police said.

Police responded to a call of a stabbing on Seminary Street near Arroyo Drive around 11:30 a.m.
The person had left the residence by the time police arrived, said Napa Police Sgt. Brian McGovern. He was later found on the Behrens Street Bridge.

He was alert, conscious and talking to paramedics on scene. McGovern said the victim’s wound did not appear life threatening. His name was not available.
The man was taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center for treatment.

" There's more to this story without scaring locals into staying away from downtown. I'll bet the man (who probably stabbed himself) was distraught, drunk, and looking for his ex's attention. I can't speak for the motel story, but people die of natural causes too. Downtown is just fine AND safe! Click on the crime map. "
