Firefighters were called out late Thursday night to reinforce a sagging carport roof, which had been damaged by a hit-and-run driver.

Around 10:30 p.m., firefighters and police responded to the accident at an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Pueblo Avenue.
A car had wiped out a column that supports the carport roof, police said. No one was hurt. As of Friday afternoon, police had not arrested the driver.

Firefighters also responded. “We built a lumber column to support the roof which was sagging. We were afraid it could break loose, fall to the ground and hurt someone,” Napa Fire Capt. Steve Brassfield said.
