A four-car chain reaction crash on Friday afternoon sent a Napa woman to the hospital.

The accident happened around 2 p.m., on southbound Highway 29 in the left turn lane onto Jamieson Canyon Road.
Drew Benson, 45, of Winters was stopped waiting to turn left, California Highway Officer Jaret Paulson said.

Lily Carson, 33, of Hidden Valley was stopped behind Benson and Margaret Mazari, 52, of Napa was stopped behind Carson, Paulson said.
Kurt Walters, 35, of West Sacramento drove up behind Mazari car, but was unable to stop in time and hit the rear end of her car, causing her vehicle to slam into the rear of Carson’s car, which plowed into the rear end of the car driven by Benson, Paulson said.

Mazari complained of pain and was taken to Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo, he said.

" How many more years do commuters have to endure the nightmare of driving through Jamieson Canyon on a Friday. After thousands of accidents, you would think that someone would come up with an options to this dangerous road. "

" All that happened here was bad driving. There is nothing wrong with Jameson Canyon. It is way better than it was five years ago. "

" Agreed, Joe. As much as I hate to say this, all people need to do is pay better attention to the road and then stuff like this wouldn't happen as often. "

" There's a video out on Caltrans website which shows the actual crash, it's not the first time that this has happened at this intersection. Statistically it happens once every month. It's a very dangerous intersection. "

" Just because there's been other accidents doesn't mean it's a dangerous intersection. It just means there's a lot of bad drivers. To many people drive to close to the car in front of them and drive to fast. "

" Thanks for correcting me jose, and geofry. I forgot I was human and not meant to make mistakes. Anyways, at this intersection there tends to be quite a few accidents. On the video you can clearly see that the guy is not paying attention and is occupied looking in the other direction, until it's to late and he brakes hard left only it's to late. "

" Thousands of accidents. Maybe a single thousand in the last 20 or 30 years. I really doubt there are thousands.

People here are stupid idiot drivers. Plain and simple. No one cares. The last guy that hit me, was some yuppie that was missing a few teeth when the cops showed up. He was smoking and dialing a phone call when I saw him crash into me.

People need to worry about themselves and not others and stop the road rage "
