JobCare closes in Napa, survives in St. Helena

The news traveled fast when St. Helena Hospital officials recently announced plans to close the Napa and Upvalley branches of JobCare — an arm of the hospital that provides work-related injury care and more to thousands of winery employees and others each year.

A search of a red Chevrolet Beretta in American Canyon turned up a .357 magnum and six baggies of marijuana early Saturday morning. American Canyon police arrested two Vallejo men — Brandon Singleton and Terry Jasper, both 18 — on suspicion of possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a loaded firearm in public, possession for sale of marijuana and other charges after the vehicle they were riding in came to a halt at Highway 29 and Mini Drive.

Drug stop, DUI in Napa

A Fairfield man was arrested in Napa Saturday evening after being stopped because one of his vehicle’s headlights was out. Don Lotz, 31, consented to a vehicle search at Brown and Pueblo streets, and Napa Police found Vicodin and morphine tablets in the car, Napa Police Sgt. Don Honey said.
