Taste at Oxbow, a winetasting salon featuring the wines of Waterstone and Mahoney Vineyards, opened Friday in Napa corner across from Taylor’s Refresher.
The new tasting room features the wines along with gourmet food snacks and boutique retail items in a relaxed lounge atmosphere.
Customers can taste from among eight different wines from Waterstone and ten wines from Mahoney Vineyards, paying $10 to taste five wines.

Approvals in Yountville
The Yountville town council has approved plans for Thomas Keller’s Ad Hoc Restaurant to expand to include Burgers and Half Bottles.
It will share the kitchen but have a separate entrance and small dining room.
The town also ok’d converting the existing Burgundy House Inn for wine tasting and retail.
Local night at Cc Blue
Cc Blue features Locals on Wednesdays when corkage is waived, and 10 percent of the total monthly Wednesday proceeds each month is donated to a local charity.
Local Girl Scouting will be the beneficiary in February.
Cc Blue is at 1148 Main St. in downtown St. Helena.
Pizza Azzurro changes location, name
Pizza Azzurro will become Azzurro Pizzeria & Enoteca when it reopens on Feb. 4 at the new Main Street West Building, at 1260 Main St. in Napa.
It adds antipasti and desserts to its salads, pizzas and pastas at the new site.
It will expand hours to include Sunday night.

Wine and food pairings at Hess Collection
The Hess Collection Winery has started a new food and wine pairing program that includes a private tour of Donald Hess' el art collection, a tasting of wines and food prepared by winery Chef Chad Hendrickson.

CIA’s Vintners Hall Of Fame dinner
Eight wine industry leaders will be inducted into the Vintners Hall of Fame at the Culinary Institute of America at a gala dinner on March 7 at Greystone in St. Helena.
This year’s inductees are Ernest and Julio Gallo, Paul Draper of Ridge Vineyards, and Miljenko “Mike” Grgich as well as Sacramento wine seller Darrell Corti.
The panel also named the founders of three wineries “Pioneers”: John Daniel of Inglenook, Louis M. Martini and Carl Heinrich Wente.
Tickets for the gala are $250.

Sbragia leaves full-time role at Beringer
Industry giant Ed Sbragia is handing over winemaking duties at Beringer Vineyards to his deputy Laurie Hook.
Sbragia, who has been at Beringer 32 years, will be devoting most of his attention to his family winery in Sonoma’s Dry Creek Valley.
