Drug stop, DUI in Napa
By NATALIE HOFFMAN, Register Staff Writer
A Fairfield man was arrested in Napa Saturday evening after being stopped because one of his vehicle’s headlights was out. Don Lotz, 31, consented to a vehicle search at Brown and Pueblo streets, and Napa Police found Vicodin and morphine tablets in the car, Napa Police Sgt. Don Honey said.
Lotz, who did not have a prescription for the medications, said he got the tablets from friends for his back pain, police said. Lotz was booked into the county jail at 7:43 p.m. Saturday, according to police.
Napa Police made a felony DUI arrest late Sunday evening after an American Canyon man was stopped at California Boulevard and Pueblo Avenue. Napa Police Sgt. Don Honey said Tomas Rodriguez, 37, was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI after an unnamed passenger in his vehicle was injured. Police are still investigating the incident, Honey said.
