Worship notes: Napa Valley Evangelical Free Church
The Napa Valley Evangelical Free Church continues their series Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. on “Discovering Your Divine Destiny.” The message during the worship service investigates how God intertwines His purposes with our lives. Napa Valley Center for Spiritual Living

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church
Catholic recording artist Michael John Poirier presents an evening of “Songs And Stories For The Whole Family” at St. John’s Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. His latest CD, “Be With Us Today,” was recently honored with a Unity Award as the Devotional Album of the Year. A free will offering is taken in lieu of admission. CDs available for sale after the concert. The church also celebrates the conclusion of Cultural Heritage Month during all Masses this weekend: Saturday, 5 and 7 p.m.; Sunday, 8 and 10 a.m., noon, and 6 p.m. This week, the parish recognizes the contributions of those whose legacy is associated with Mexico,

Unitarian Universalist
Kelly Decker, a Napa native and an ecosystem modeler for NASA Ames Research Center, speaks Jan. 27 on the “Politics of Sustainability” at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of North Bay. Dr. Decker shares her experiences with the science and politics surrounding global climate change. She also discusses her experience working with local citizens to change the way we think about our resource use in Napa. She discusses some of the “exciting things” that are happening and on the horizon in Napa. The fellowship meets at 11 a.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Napa Valley, 1515 W. Pueblo Ave., Napa. Napa Community Retreat
The Napa Interfaith Council sponsors their fourth annual retreat, “Spirit of the Napa Valley,” with this year’s emphasis on Wisdom: The Search for Wisdom on Feb. 16, at Napa Valley College. The day starts at 9 a.m. with keynote speaker, James O’Dea, president of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, who talks on “Wisdom, the Child of Fierce Beauty.” At 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1:10 p.m. and 2:10 p.m., participants can choose from various workshops. St. Stephen’s Anglican Church
