Romantic getaway provides fodder for high comedy at Dreamweavers

Of all the talking heads in operation last week, the best one I heard was at Dreamweaver’s. It was a deer head, complete with antlers, mounted trophy-style. It spoke out at various times, and as far as making sense and being useful, it left all political pundits far behind in the dust. For that matter, so did the singing fish.

An enchanting afternoon at Safari Westv

I’d always been intrigued by the open lands of Africa. I like to imagine being up close and personal with dark-eyed cheetahs and exotic birds. Like many folks, however, reality always got in the way. Hearing about all those jungle diseases, and rough and tumble conditions talked me out of it every time.

From Greek to Brazilian, Italian to Lithuanian, Mexican to French, what defines American cuisine is as new as the newest wave of immigrants and as fresh as the latest fusion cuisine.

Niagra-on-the-Lake, Ontario – My wife and I are driving down a two-lane road bordered by vineyards, a scene you’d say was vintage Napa Valley. Except for one thing: We’ve just pulled off the Queen Elizabeth Highway after the hour-and-a-half drive from the north shore of Lake Ontario at Toronto and find ourselves in the storybook town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, where the vineyards of Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula spread out across a 30-mile plain.
