A solo-vehicle traffic wreck caused widespread power outages in the north Napa area Friday night. The Napa Police Department said alcohol was a factor in the wreck. As of Saturday afternoon 330 homes were still without power.
Police said that Jessica Sanders, 51, collided with a power pole on the 3300 block of Solano Avenue at 10 p.m., Friday. The impact collapsed a power pole and took out several power lines resulting in the power outages police said.
A PG&E spokesman said that crews were working hard to restore power to the area and were expected to have done so by 3 p.m., Saturday. The Napa Police Department said that Sanders was intoxicated at the time of the wreck and arrested her on suspicion of DUI.
