Comedy and community music at Copia in January

January is Classic Comedy Month at Copia. Friday Night Flicks begin on Jan 11 with “Some Like It Hot,” the 1959 classic starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. When Chicago musicians Joe ( Curtis) and Jerry (Lemmon) witness a gangland shooting, they quickly board a southbound train disguised as Josephine and Daphne, the two newest and homeliest members of an all-girl jazz band. Their cover is perfect until a singer (Monroe) falls for Josephine, an aging playboy falls for Daphne, and the mob  picks up their trail. The night includes as  special “live” appearance with Diana Dawn as Marilyn Monroe in the Copia theater at 8 p.m..

Known as the Mozart Duo, they now reside in Germany and have been touring internationally.

Mandy suggested serving it with cinnamon flavored whipped cream — Sasha Paulsen

We’ve all heard the expression, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”
