Back Room Wines, the wine shop and tasting bar on Franklin Street in downtown Napa is moving to a larger space at First and Main streets.

It will continue to sell small-production California wines as well as imported wines. In addition, it will add specialty liquors.
Its wine tastings will continue to focus on special tasting events in the evenings.

Construction starts early January. Look for Back Room Wines to open at its new location this spring.

Oxbow Public Market catches fish vendor
Oxbow Public Market has caught its much-anticipated seafood retailer, Kanaloa Seafood, the environmentally responsible seafood purveyor from Santa Barbara.

Kanaloa will offer a full-service seafood market, providing the highest quality seafood and related items to locals and customers throughout the United States. It will feature shellfish and locally caught fish.

Pizza Azzurro’s new digs

Pizza Azzurro should open Feb. 1, at its new location in Main Street West at Clinton. The present location will close Jan. 25.

The new space will be 50 percent bigger and designed by Kimberly Nunn & Dan Worden of Shopworks Design, which designed the interiors of the Carneros Inn, Farm and Boon Fly.

The kitchen will be twice as big, allowing them to add appetizers and desserts, and maybe even an entrée special each night.  It sounds like a real Italian pizzeria, which offers more than just pizzas.

And it will be open Sunday night for dinner.

" I'm so happy that Kanaloa is opening at Oxbow Public Market. I've missed Acme Fish since it's closure. "
