Having a sweet tooth is not against the law, but being in possession of 44 marijuana-laced chocolate bars landed a Sebastapol man in jail Saturday afternoon.

A Napa County Sheriff’s deputy stopped John Caleb Marks, 30, on the 3200 block of Highway 128 for expired registration tags Napa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Oscar Ortiz said.
During the stop, the deputy smelled the strong aroma of the illegal plant and searched the vehicle. The search yielded some marijuana, an undisclosed amount of cash and 44 marijuana-laced candy bars that deputies believe were meant to be sold Ortiz said.

The deputy arrested Marks on suspicion of transportation and possession for sale of marijuana.
