There are three openings on the Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council, according to the Napa County Executive’s office, one from a community-based drug and alcohol treatment program, one from the community-at-large and one parent of at-risk youth from the community-at-large. The terms expire Dec. 31, 2009.

The Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council:
• Advises the chief probation officer on the use of funds provided for under the Comprehensive Youth Services Act, and on statutory and all state and federal guidelines and regulatory requirements;

• Develops and submits to the Board of Supervisors a comprehensive multi-agency juvenile justice plan;
• Develops ways of monitoring spending, to ensure quality and effectiveness of services.

Meetings are held quarterly on the third Wednesday of the month. Interested individuals should submit an application by Jan. 25, 5 p.m. to the County Executive’s Office, 1195 Third Street, Room 310, Napa or at the County’s website at www.co.napa.ca.us./Register
