Napa city fire crews quickly doused a fire that nonetheless caused $60,000 worth of damage at a home on the 3200 block of MacBeth Street Thursday evening.

The fire burned the garage attic of the single family residence in a neighborhood near Redwood Road, Capt. Conrad Perez said. Firefighters arrived at the home around 10:30 p.m. and found flames spewing from above the garage.
Crews had control of the fire within 15 minutes. The homeowner was home at the time the attic caught fire and used a garden hose to help prevent the spread of the flames, Perez said.

No injuries were reported. Perez said that the burn was electrical in nature, but that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
