Snow which collected on a trash bin along Howell Mountain Road in Angwin on Friday morning begins to melt as a light drizzle starts to fall.

Linda Elliott-Smith of Elan Vineyards and Winery reported that Atlas Peak saw snow for at least three hours on Thursday night, covering Friday morning with about a quarter inch of snow all over. The powder was beautiful, Elliott-Smith said, but gone by mid-afternoon. J.L. Sousa/Register
