In a participatory and inter-generational Sunday service conducted by the Rev. Bonnie Dlott, members of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of North Bay from many generations present brief answers to poet Mary Oliver’s question, “What will you do with your one wild and precious life?” The fellowship meets at 11 a.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Napa Valley, 1515 W. New Year’s Eve celebration
Cornerstone Ministries presents New Year’s Eve Celebration events. There is a New Year’s Eve Celebration on Dec. 31, featuring a free concert by Roby Duke from 7-9 p.m. Also on Dec. 31 is the New Year Revolution Youth Event, with a free concert by Burning Tree Projekt and Hazel & Vine. Epiphany Sunday concert
Music lovers and the general public are invited to the Mont La Salle Chapel to enjoy the 2008 annual Epiphany Sunday Concert on Jan. 6, at 3 p.m. The “Festival of Lessons and Carols for Epiphany” concert features organist Travis Rogers, the music director of Napa High School, as well some very talented vocalists from the Bay Area. Community Church
of Lake Berryessa
The Community Church begins the new year with a special presentation of Christ in the Passover. This event occurs on Jan. 13, at 10 a.m., in conjunction with the regular Sunday service. It is presented by Jews for Jesus and is intended to enhance the Christian’s understanding and appreciation of the Christian communion. Ancient and modern Jewish customs are discussed and described with an emphasis on the aspect of redemption which Christ accomplished at Calvary. A table will be set with many of the traditional Jewish Passover items including foods, seder plate, cup of Elijah and matzo pouch. Come gain new insights into Christ the Lord. Sunday services are at 10 a.m. with children’s ministries and nursery provided. Various mid-week groups, activities, fellowship and weekly food distribution are available.
