As president of Napa Valley College I would like to share the reasons that Measure L, a local college facilities bond on the Feb. 5 ballot, is important to the future of our community.

A recent letter to the Napa Valley Register (“Dissolving the valley’s divide,” Dec. 14) and other valley newspapers implied that St. Helenans donate only to St. Helena organizations.

Two years ago, the Napa Pipe property was just a rusty relic of Napa’s industrial past.
