Openings on Measure A Oversight Committee
The County Executive Office announces five openings on the Measure A Financial Oversight Committee due to resignations and expiration of terms:
• One representative of the local media recommended by the Napa Valley Register after consulting with the Napa Sentinel, KVON/KVYN, the St. Helena Start and Weekly Calistogan, the term of office expires June 30, 2008;
• One representative of Health and Human Services to be recommended by the Coalition of Nonprofits, the term of office expires June 30, 2008;
• One representative of the City of Calistoga, the term of office expires June 30, 2009; applicants may not be an officer, agent, employee, or elected official of the county or any incorporated city or town within the County
• One representative of Napa County Taxpayers, who shall be nominated by an organized taxpayer group operating within Napa County, including, but not limited to, the Napa County Taxpayers Alliance, the term of office expires June 30, 2010;
• One representative of the Environmental Community recommended by the Napa County Sierra Club after consulting with formally organized environmental organizations in Napa County, the term of office expires June 30, 2010;
The FOC’s purpose is to inform the public on expenditures of Flood Protection Sales Tax proceeds generated as a result of the enactment of Measure A.
Interested applicants need to have a strong understanding of the type and nature of expenditures associated with a public project of this magnitude, and be able to review budgetary documents with a particular emphasis on capital project expenditures. Meetings are held quarterly.
Members of the FOC are appointed by the Board of Supervisors based upon names recommended by the public agencies listed above. Interested parties should complete an application through the coordinating agencies/organizations listed above or directly to the County Executive Office by 5 p.m. on Jan. 18, 2008.
