1 p.m.A hiker discovered what appears to be the skeletal remains of a human being at Napa Valley College Friday afternoon. The Napa Police Department reported that the hiker was walking along the eastern edge of the college at 2:30 p.m. when the discovery was made.

Police are investigating, but have yet to determine to whom the remains belong. The area where the skeleton was located has undergone heavy grading linked to the construction of a new entrance to campus from Highway 221 and Magnolia Drive, according to police.
