Arguments and knives lead to arrests

A Vallejo man got into an argument with a truck driver, who apparently was blocking his vehicle, police said.
Napa police suspect Cecil Madrinan Rana took his aggression out on the truck driver with a knife.
The trouble started on Thursday morning, when Rana and the truck driver got into a heated argument at a loading dock at the Staples office supply store on Trancas Street.
The argument escalated and Rana allegedly stabbed the driver, who was sitting in the cab of his big-rig, in the hand and fled, police said.
A description of Rana and his vehicle were broadcast over police dispatch. A sheriff’s deputy spotted him a short time later driving on Oak Knoll Road, police said.
He was pulled over and taken into custody.
The truck driver declined medical aid at the scene, police said.
Rana, 40, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
In a separate incident, Aaron Patrick Gilmet got a free ride to the county jail Friday after a woman told police he threatened to kill her with a knife, Sheriff’s Capt. Gene Lyerla said.
The woman was not hurt.
On Friday morning, deputies responded to a report of an argument in the 1600 block of Verna Drive in Napa.
The woman said Gilmet and she were arguing when he made threats to harm her, Lyerla said.
The couple’s 3-year-old child was in the residence at the time, he said.
Gilmet, 21, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
