With the candidates, separating reality from distortion
Since you profess to present the facts as they unfold, how about considering the vast numbers of those who don’t wish to be labeled as belonging to the extreme side of either party and wish to vote strictly on the merits of each candidate?
Pilot, board deserve more spill scrutiny
Ever since the cargo ship Cosco Busan sideswiped the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge last month, spilling 58,000 gallons of fuel oil into the bay, members of Congress and state legislators have been clamoring for investigations of just about everybody responsible for the spill and its cleanup.

Dear editor, We want to thank the Register and Jillian Jones for writing an important article about gifted children (“Gifted and struggling,” Dec. 1). While the focus happened to be about our son, it could have been written about many other children just like him in our county. When any child’s learning needs are not met, it can create emotional problems.
