Sandy Biale’s trip to a gas station turned into something more heroic Saturday night.
Biale was filling up at the 76 gas station on Redwood Road at Solano Avenue when she saw a woman drive into the gas station and hit a gas pump, causing her car as well as the pump to catch fire.
The woman was trapped in the station wagon she was driving and Biale sprung into action.
“I just saw that she was in trouble and I pulled her out,” Biale said.
Biale and others carried her to a nearby restaurant and called for an ambulance. Meanwhile Napa City Fire crews arrived moments later to extinguish the fire.
Biale said that the woman was drifting in and out of consciousness and an ambulance arrived to take her to the hospital. The woman’s name and her condition as well as the cause of the wreck were not known at press time.
