1:30 p.m.Tomorrow night, the 11-1 Napa High School football team travels to take on Elk Grove High, with the winner advancing to the Sac-Joaquin Section Div. 1 title game.

Napa High head coach Troy Mott says he expects the 7:30 p.m. game at undefeated Elk Grove to be a tough challenge for both schools.
“They’re as good as anybody would expect a 12-0 team to look," said Mott about Elk Grove. "They’re well-schooled and they have a plan and a purpose in everything they do. They have a great defense and run the ball extremely well.”

Elk Grove head coach Dave Hoskins — who last week announced his retirement — said he finds Napa to be a very deceptive team.

“They’re very scary. We respect our opponents but we fear no one. That’s our philosophy," said Hoskins. "We know that Napa is a very good football team, and when you get to this level, that’s the way it should be. We’re not afraid of anyone. We’ll come up and punch you in the mouth.”
