Technical Advisory Panel board openings

The Napa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District announces two openings on the Technical Advisory Panel (TAP) for individuals with expertise in one or more of the following:

* Architecture
* Landscape Architecture

* Civil Engineering
* Hydrology/Hydraulics

* Urban Planning or Design
* Geo-technical Engineering

* Environmental Sciences/ Natural Resources Management

* Water or Wastewater Engineering

Both positions start immediately, with one position expiring on June 30, 2008, the other on June 30, 2010.

The TAP provides the district with technical expertise in the review of the Army Corps of Engineers' proposed Napa River Flood Protection Project in the city of Napa and portions of the county. Its main charge is to ensure that the project's construction plans and specifications are consistent with the direction established by the Community Coalition for a Napa Flood Management Plan.

TAP members must have, or be willing to obtain, knowledge of the Living River Guidelines and Urban Design Criteria of the Community Coalition Flood Management Plan.

The TAP meets the last Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Napa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Office.

Anyone interested in being considered for appointment must submit an application to the County Executive Office no later than 5 p.m. on Dec. 21.
