The Modesto who opened fired with a shotgun at a Napa residence will answer to three counts of attempted murder and a laundry list of other felonies.

After a two-day preliminary hearing, Superior Court Judge Stephen Kroyer ordered today that Willis Valone Creech, 31, face charges of attempted murder of his daughter, his wife’s stepsister and mother.
Creech is also charged with four counts of shooting at inhabited dwelling, two counts of child endangerment, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and the special allegation of personal use of a firearm.

Creech and his wife, two children, 3 and 5, were living in Modesto. On Sept. 14, Creech’s wife left him, taking the children to her father’s house in the 5800 block of Dry Creek Road.
The next day, Creech armed with a shotgun, drove to his in-laws home  and proceeded to fire the weapon four times into the house. One of the bullets shattered a study window, barely missing his 5-year-old daughter who was in the room at the time. The other shots were fired into the front door.

At the preliminary, Creech’s wife Reanna Creech, said he had bought a shotgun shortly before the shooting incident, showing it to her inside their Modesto house when there children were present.
Although Reanna Creech testified her husband had never threatened her with the gun she “felt my life was in jeopardy. I was very scared.” She said she cried and did not want firearms in her home because of her children.
